Written Language

In written language we are learning to write a recount using descriptive language and to write in past tense.

Here is Charlotte's and Franklin's stories that they have typed up and presented in their own Google Accounts. Well done, I like the way you have added photos to support your writing.

Middle School Swimming Sports

On the morning of the big day, the 28th of February it was Middle School Swimming Sports. I was so nervous my tummy was churning like a washing machine. I was in B6 with my friend Neela.

We got changed just before a yummy morning tea. When the bell rang, I could feel colourful butterflies fluttering in my tummy. I hurried to get my towel and to get in my line on the warm courts. As I sat I could feel my excitement as I waited for the fun to begin…

Soon Mrs Venville told us to go sit in our long line. When I sat on my warm towel Neela helped me find my mum in the great crowd of parents. Before I knew it, it was my turn to splash in the icy, cold pool. ‘Freestyle my favourite’ I thought as I hopped into the ripple-covered pool. CLAP! Went the clapper, I pushed off the wall and swam to the end. I won, Yay! I waited with Neela until backstroke, I won that too! As for caterpillar, I came third.

By the end I was puffing and cold BUT that didn’t matter I had so much fun. I wanted to do it again! Next year Saint Kentigern pool!

Middle School Swimming Sports

On the last day of February it was Middle School Swimming Sports. It was extremely sunny just the right weather. Everyone was very excited that morning. I was in A11 with my friend Liam.

We changed into our swimming togs right before morning tea. We put a shirt on then we went out to play. When the bell rang we rushed to the classroom. We grabbed our towel and goggles then we walked in a line to the pool.

Once we got to the pool we sat down in our lines. I got a glimpse of my mum I waved to her and she waved back, my sister was there too. Then the races started. When it was our turn I was very nervous. My heart was beating 100 kilometres an hour.

I sploshed into the water, it was ice cold. Whaea shouted “ready set GO!” We took off like a bullet that had just been shot out of a gun. We swam so hard that our arms ached.

Before our other two races begun , Liam and I talked and played hand games. Then we did backstroke and caterpillar. We swam our best for both of them.

It was great fun doing Middle School Swimming Sports.Though, I was exhausted by the end, but I can’t wait for the Senior School Swimming Sports.
